Huddle for Microsoft Office Add-in

With Huddle's Microsoft Office add-in, you can now access your Huddle files directly from within Microsoft Office. This great tool lets you save your local files directly into Huddle with one click, view and edit files, add new versions, and send notifications without going near a browser!

We've listened to all your feedback on the Huddle add-in and are happy to announce the release a vastly improved version.

As before you can:
  • Open files directly from Huddle in Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Save a new version straight back to Huddle
  • Save new files directly into Huddle
And we've added some great new features:
  • You can now choose to lock a file for editing when opening it, and the lock state will be reflected to other users in Huddle and in the menu bar in Office
  • You can now notify others of your update when saving files back to Huddle
and fixed a number of bugs!

We hope this plug-in works well for you, please visit our Support Forums or Feedback Forum if you have any feedback or suggestions for future enhancements.

A few technical points:
  • Important: You must click ‘Save to Huddle’ to save files into your workspaces or update versions. Clicking the standard Save button will only save a local copy of the file.
  • The plug-in currently works for MS Office 2007 on PC only. (Although not officially supported, in most cases it should work on Office 2010 as well)
  • If you do not have Microsoft's .NET framework and/or Visual Studio Tools for Office the Huddle installer will prompt you and install them for you before installing the Huddle add-in
